Letterpress

As the proud owner of two Kluge 12×18 presses, we’re happy to offer custom letterpress ephemera. Invitations, cards, posters… we’re game for anything and everything!

We currently print from photopolymer plates, which are able to hold the finest detail and hold up for larger editions without degrading in quality. Custom woodblocks may also be carved at additional expense. We strongly advise against choosing letterpress for short run work, as the setup procedure is much more complicated for this medium, which results in a higher setup fee and price per piece. However, there is no minimum order for letterpress projects.

Traditional letterpress work is limited to a maximum plate size  of 9″ x 12″ and a maximum sheet size of 13″ x 19″. We can accommodate requests for larger prints, but it requires more discussion about project specifics.

Standard turnaround is 2 weeks for photopolymer plates, and 3 weeks for hand-carved block printing. Rush service is available at additional expense, but work cannot begin without a deposit.

Our average costs for letterpress projects are as follows: Business cards are $100-500, invitations are $100-900 and art prints are $100 and up. We always try to work with you to recommend ways to print your project within budget if possible.

Need a new print vendor? Click here for our current letterpress pricing. Vendors who meet certain criteria, such as ordering a minimum of 1 project per month, and have worked with us previously, may be entitled to bulk printing discounts. All prices must be confirmed by our quote process.

Screen Printing

All of our screen printing is done by hand in our studio. We specialize in printing on flat stock or stretched fabric, but are interested in working on anything you can throw at us.

Maximum image size is 18″ x 24″. Larger prints must be tiled to cover the desired area at additional expense. There is no minimum size.

Custom work prices begin at $100 and are priced according to size of the printed area and quantity of prints desired. Although we do not have a minimum quantity per order, be advised that the price per piece becomes cheaper as the number of pieces increases. Standard turnaround is 2 weeks, but we can sometimes accommodate rush orders at additional expense.
